The Catholic Church sex abuse crisis has arguably been the biggest scandal in their long history. The stories of settlements, accusations, and clergy going to jail continue to be published. Recently, Minnesota Public Radio reported four high ranking officials in the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis are criminally responsible for failing to report the abuse of children by clergy.
An attorney for some of the victims claims one Archbishop, one former Archbishop, and two former Vicars knew about the abuse or at least had to have suspicions about it, but did nothing. The allegations made in 2013 come on top of a series of reports by Minnesota Public Radio which found the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis were silent about abusive priests and moved them around to different jobs and made payments to offending priests who chose retirement.
